Photos

Unfortuneately no great photos. This about the only decent one. The gig was for a bunch of nice people, in the most random little village.
My silk fan routine, James bond, "You Know My Name" had people standing, clapping and cheering. Definately going to work on developing that routine further.

After meeting another Burlesquer that night, who was very much determined she was "nothing without her costume and props", I've decided that I would describe myself as a Burlesque Performer rather than as a Burlesque Artist.

A Burlesque Artist, in my opinion is a Burlesquer restricted by the aesthetic criteria of the art, they want to present a perfected image to the audience and that is their primary concern.
Whereas I would like to describe the Glitter Kittens as a troupe of Burlesque Performers, the word performer to me connotates much more positive themes of playing, acting and responding to an audience. I feel when I am dancing, that I'm projecting how much fun I'm having to the audience and they are responding to my energy, rather than it being about me just presenting an object for them to admire. As a performer I engage with an audience, the connection between audience and performer creates more energy and it is this positive energy that I much rather prefer than looking perfect.

Saturday 26th November

Gig with Glitter Kittens, finally going to perform "You know my name" 007 theme song, with my silk fans. Love this piece of music, fears that I'm going to sing along! Hopefully there will be pics to post after show. Fingers crossed, difficult we dont have professional cameras, clubs are always dark, sigh, will take my camera along see if it can manage.

Christmas Bra ha ha

Starting to get very excited about christmas, costume is in process of being created by my most favourite dress maker in the world! The amazing Karen.

The routine itself, should it include fans or not? Hmmmm, perhaps, Idea of a giant snowflake that seperates appeals to me, but me thinks just glove peel and cape play may be enough for this one.
Gonna keep experimenting this week. See what fits music best. Oh yeah of course music is from the delightful, Nightmare before Christmas.

Erotic Review Magazine

                  :)

Two burlesque belles graced the bill: Lady Cherry, featuring as a sexy Little Red Riding Hood, and Kitty Cointreau, with her signature Victorian Va Va Voom number. The former offered a clever fan dance with actual fans (of the sort you use to cool yourself), which she employed in a hypnotic ribbon-twirling choreography, thanks to soft, free-flowing veil-like extensions attached to their extremities. The latter, in turn, sported glitter as her weapon of choice, copiously bestowing the stuff around in one of the most seamless, accomplished bump-and-grind acts to tour Britain in recent times

Pistol and Jacks Halloween Show

Pistol and Jacks was an awesome show. I enjoyed everything about the night, was great to see different comedy and cabaret acts, was especially impressed by Dusty Limits. To perform in London was a great opportunity for myself and I have Kitty Cointreau to thank for that (whos Victorian Vampire Routine was supremely delightful), sighh, I want to go back and do it again!
I performed "Little Red" and had lots of positive feed back from other performers and members from the audience. Think providing an audience with sweets at the beginning of a routine is slightly cheating, feels like bribing them, lol, "Enjoy the routine I just gave you a sweetie!!"

Little Red

Off to Gran Ma's house

Little Red, strip tease into silk fan dance, to the music "Little Red Riding Hood" by the Meteors. I enjoy the structure of the routine, going from removing of clothes into big silk fans concealing body and making large shapes around me, feels like it flows nicely from one section to the other.

Would love to change the ending though, instead of using fans, I would enjoy having a large bower in the shape of a wolf, with a wolfs head that I can put my hand inside and manipulate like a puppet. Make for comedy boa routine!

The Pac Man Boogie!

Currently my favourite routine to perform! Two large circular shaped Pac Man fans conceal my upper half to the audience, I begin to dance to OK Team Go's, "Junior Kick Start", then revealing the top half of my costume the two ghosts blinky and clyde. The routine continues as a stip tease, with lots of shimmying of the tassly ghost bra. Cant wait to perform this routine again, combining my geekyness with Burlesque makes me happy!! (Need some pics to put along with this entry)

Performed at Brahaha Preston on September 28th. Really enjoyed the performance and lots of positive feed back afterwards. After watching video back, I can see certain areas I want to improve, but in general pretty happy with how the routine looks.  :)
